At this year’s first Innov8 under the theme ‘Celebrating Innovation in Africa”, we are calling all innovators that have created African solutions for African challenges. Together with the African Innovation Foundation team, The Innovation Hub seeks to encourage technological innovations that improve the lives of ordinary citizens in Africa – through increasing efficiency in service delivery or dramatically reducing costs of goods or services through technology.
The Innov8 panel moderated by The Innovation Hub’s CEO, Mr McLean Sibanda, is made up of industry experts, innovators and entrepreneurs that are well-versed in the debates surrounding innovation in Africa. Barriers to innovation such as policies, education and funding will be discussed to highlight the way in which innovation can be achieved amidst these challenges. Innovators with ideas will pitch ideas that they have to the panellists who will advise them on how to refine and make their idea commercially viable. Exhibitions that showcase the latest innovations in Africa will be available for viewing throughout the event.
Here is an opportunity to learn and share experiences with the International and South African experts who have extensive experience in the Innovation ecosystem. The panel will cover the following topics:
African Solutions for African Challenges:
Food Challenges: Food availability and usage in Africa, how best can we drive the food agenda from African perspective?
Health challenges: How to improve health care system by utilising minimum viable technology?
